A family just lost someone they love. They cannot afford to bury them.

Every Muslim deserves a dignified farewell. Not just the ones whose families can cover the cost. The Janazah Project has been that step — quietly, consistently, for over 16 years.

Who we are

Faith-driven. Community-rooted. Built on amanah.

The Janazah Project is a faith-driven nonprofit built on one belief — that our duty to each other does not end when someone leaves this world.

We cover burial costs for families who cannot afford a dignified farewell. We build water wells that give clean water to entire communities for generations. We send food to families in Gaza and Yemen. We support small mosques and fund Islamic education for children who have no other way.

This is not charity as performance. It is responsibility — quiet, consistent, and grounded in the values our deen asks of us.

The Janazah Project
What guides us

Five values. One direction.

أمانة Amanah

Every donation is accounted for. We tell you where your money goes and what it accomplished.

رحمة Rahmah

We serve with gentleness. Every family we support is going through one of the hardest moments of their life.

إخلاص Ikhlas

We do not do this for recognition. Every act of service is done solely for the sake of Allah.

أخوة Ukhuwwah

The ummah is one body. When one part suffers, the rest feels it. TJP is how that feeling becomes action.

بركة Barakah

We build things that continue — wells that keep giving, knowledge that keeps spreading, deeds that outlast a lifetime.

TJP History
Our history

16 years before the first post.

The Janazah Project did not start with a social media account. It started with a need — a family that could not afford a burial, a community that stepped in, and a realization that this was happening more than anyone knew.

For over 16 years, TJP has been covering burial costs, building wells, and supporting families in need. Not because it was visible. Because it was necessary.

We are sharing it now — not to perform, but because the work is bigger than any one organization can carry alone. The more the ummah knows, the more the ummah can give. And the more the ummah gives, the more lives are changed.

"When a person dies, their deeds come to an end except three — ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them."

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — Sahih Muslim

A water well is ongoing charity. Islamic education is beneficial knowledge. Supporting a janazah is a community honoring its own. Through TJP, you can be part of all three — and the reward does not stop when you do.
